OracleAgent80 ==> Oracle intelligent agent. To discover services
periodically, run scheduled jobs etc.
OracleClientCache80 ==> If you are using the object option plus OCI you can
take advantage of this
OracleConTextService8 ==> Oracle's text storage/retrieval mechanism
OracleDataGatherer ==> It is an extra option that comes with the Performance
pack. It collects data periodically on a variety of server tuning
parameters that can be set. It is kind of cool.
OracleExtprocAgent ==> for calling procedures written in external languages
OracleNamesService ==> Oracle names. This is used in shops that have a lot
of databases with a number of clients. Helps in centralized management of
oracle services.
OracleNamesService80==> Oracle names version 8.x
If you are NOT USING any of these just stop them and make their startup
manual. These services eat up a lot of memory.
Hope that helps
