Chances are, when you installed, it installed a starter database. See if you cannot start SQL*Plus and provide the following info:

userid: system
password: manager
service: <you can leave this blank>

Typically, all Oracle databases come with docs....if you cannot locate yours, you may go to: http://technet.oracle.com. Get a userid and password....and enjoy the docs online.
