The unix user who is trying to create a new database (probally oracle7) has to be from the group "dba"

I also experienced on AIX4.2 that there is sometimes a difference in the export notation.

    export ORACLE_HOME=/bla/bla

    is not the same as

    ORACLE_HOME=/bla/bla; export ORACLE_HOME

    The second notation works always, don't ask me why or how.
