How to drop an oracle database

Hi,

I need to drop one of my oracle databases (instance + db). Is there, in Oracle, any equivalent to other dbms' "DROP DATABASE" instruction?

I have been suggested to drop manually, through the operating system, after having brought the instance down:
- the init_sid.ora parameter file

Is there a way to drop these all using a soft(ware?) way?

Thank you,

Karina.
