Go to some workstations with a stopwatch and time several common tasks. You will need to be able to hold up hard figures after the change when users are complaining about performance.
Esp if the NT box is fairly new, organize a regular downtime window. Esp in the early days of NT you will need windows to re-boot it after configuration changes.
You will loose just about all your scripting tools under NT. Many of the automated tools are now useless. Some replacements are available at http://www.cygnus.com/misc/gnu-win32 You can even get a copy of bash for NT there. I found it a bit slow, but at least you get the functionality back.
Sell you house and move closer to your workplace. You need to come in to fix NT problems, no more fixing them over the wire from home.
