Dear Oracle Admins:

A client of ours is running Netware 3.12 and Oracle 7.0.15. We have to upgrade them to Oracle 7.3. Assumes that I've got good backups and stuff, my approach is either going to be

  1. upgrade from 7.0.15 to 7.3

or

2) export the database and re-install a brand new 7.3 instance and re-import the entire export (from 7.0.15)

Which one is a better choice?

If I'm using method 1. Do I have to upgrade multiple times from 7.0 -> 7.1 and from 7.1 -> 7.2 then eventually 7.3?

If I'm using method 2. Will the export (.dmp) dump file generated by 7.0.15 database be able to import back to a 7.3 database?
