Oracle obackup (EBU) question.

Hi, all...

We have an Oracle 7.1 database (going to 7.3 in Sept.) that is running the obackup catalog instance with obacup 2.0. We also have a new machine with 7.3 and ebu 2.2.

The problem seems to be running ebu 2.2 and obackup 2.0 out of the same instance of the catalog database. Does everything have to be at the same version to get it to work? Or, is there a way to get them to coexist in the same catalog instance?

Another thought: am I approaching this the wrong way? Should there be a separate instance of the catalog database per instance that is being backed up? I don't think that's the case, however..

Thanks,

Eric Ladner
