Amit,
Oracle had Parallel capabilities since version 7.1(1995) . Supporting/maintaining the same functionality across all the platforms is what makes oracle so pervasive. You can either create tables/indexes with Parallel clause or specify parallel hints to make use of the parallel feature(s).
