Hello:

I presume you are using WAS 3.x

I ran into this problem on the NT platform. In previous versions of the WAS you could use the IP Address of the host machine, but not anymore.

If you are using NT, install the Microsoft DNS Server. From the DNS Manager,

    Create a Server. It will be the hostname.domain of the NT machine (curly.lss.com)

    Create a Primary Zone under the Server (lss.com)     Create a New 'A' record under the Zone. The Host name (in this example) should curly.

        The name of the NT Server.
        The IP Address will be the IP address of the NT Server.


That should do it.

From the client machines, you will be able to reference by using the hostname.domain that you just created (http://curly.lss.com/....) Received on Fri May 29 1998 - 00:24:10 CDT
