  1. To access Oracle through a firewall, the firewall must support a SQL*Net proxy. Two that do are Raptor and TIS. I daresay there are others as well. Otherwise you will have to go through quite a bit of trouble.
  2. The client and server should be configured as if there was no firewall. The SQL*Net proxy should take care of authenticating and passing the messages through.
