There are more insidious reasons that can cause ora-1555 and can't really be cured by larger rbs... If you have access to Oracle manuals and Oracle support's WWW Metalink, look up 'fetch across commit' and 'delayed dirty db block cleanout'. If you need more help from me, you can email me a description of your applications and what they are doing and see what we can do (oh yes, many times ora-1555 is caused by bad handling/understanding of Oracle's transaction processing, not something can be fixed by DBAs at db level)
