We're using MTS with Sun Solaris 2.x. Generally we have no problem. There's a little overhead in the response time of fast little queries. But if you have many users the difference between the response times is going to 0. An interesting thing is to use MTS with Data Warehouse Applications. You can give a lot of MB sort memory to the servers. Because you can limit the servers you avoid the "out of memory" of many inactive users with al lot of sort space.
