Problems with OCI doing LONG RAW

I have a client program that uses OCI 7.3 to communicate with an Oracle 7.3 database. The server is under AIX
4.1. Everything seems to work fine until I insert or update LONG RAW columns in a piece wise fashion with
obindps.

Things work fine with both the client and server on NT. But when oexec is called after a column binded with
obindps, with the client on NT and the server on AIX I get: "ORA-12571: TNS:packet writer failure". When both
the server and the client are on AIX I get: "ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel"

Can anyone help me?
