The Microsoft ODBC Driver for Oracle from Microsoft is not on a par with the SQL Server Driver from Microsoft. I am not surprised at your results !

As Expected but this is not Oracle rather the ODBC Driver.

No the Oracle ODBC Driver ..............s!

If you perform the following experiment you will certainly find out what is going on.

  1. Download the OpenLink High-Performance ODBC Driver for Oracle on NT from http://www.openlinksw.com (it available for free evaluation without expiration).
  2. Also Download our OpenLink ODBC SCAN Utility (This is an ODBC profiling & benchmarking tool, not when profiling MS ACCESS use the "Trace on DSN" option).
  3. Repeat your tests using the OpenLink High-Performance ODBC Driver for Oracle and the MS SQL Server ODBC Driver from Microsoft.
  4. Analyze the Trace File produced by OpenLink ODBC SCAN
  5. Share your observations with other Forum members
  6. You can also run the TPC-Like benchmark that we bundle we with our Drivers which will also allow you to compare our Oracle using our Drivers with MS SQL Server via the Microsoft Drivers. Also share the results of this experiment with all.
