Hi

SHMMAX value on my system is 1GB
SGA size = 5128924 bytes ( the total value from show sga )  The value show by ipcs –mb is 5140480 bytes

 The tstshm output is :

Number of segments gotten by shmget() = 50 Number of segments attached by shmat() = 50 Segments attach at higher addresses
Shared memory non-attachable at specific addresses!

Default shared memory address = 0xc15e8000
Lowest shared memory address = 0xc15e8000
Highest shared memory address = 0xc77e8000
Total shared memory range = 104857600
Total shared memory attached = 104857600
Largest single segment size = 2097152
Segment boundaries (SHMLBA) = 4096 (0x1000)

Can someone explain this BIZZARE variations in Oracle shared memory sizes.

 Thanks.
