hi,

my alert logfile has the following entry:

Current log# 2 seq# 3694 mem# 0:
C:\PROGRA~1\ORAWIN95\DATABASE\LOG1ORCL.ORA Thread 1 cannot allocate new log, sequence 3695 Checkpoint not complete

what does it mean ? cannot allocate new log. is it a problem ? what is happening here ? whats a checkpoint ?
