ODTUG Spring Conference Highlights

CONFERENCE UPDATE: ODTUG is presenting a full set of presentations on object-orientated techniques from analysis through development at their Spring 98 Conference in Palm Springs, California.

Object-oriented analysis starts off with the basics of object-oriented thinking and moves on to using UML, the latest object-oriented design notation. Object-oriented databases in Oracle 8 are discussed in two presentations, including class hierarchies and object views. Next there's two more presentations on how to use Oracle's Object Database Designer to design and implement your Oracle 8 database. There's also a comparison of tools and techniques to Object Database Designer so you'll know it compares to your current environment!

Multiple presentations discuss going object-oriented in Designer/2000, both for Release 1.0 and Release 2.0. If you're not sure what OO buys you, this is your chance to figure out how to stay in your current environment and still keep up to date with OO. Object-oriented forms generation in Release 2.0 is presented for those interested in the latest and greatest.

Developer/2000 offers more object-oriented options through its implementation of sub-classes, object class libraries, etc. Two presentations discuss advanced object-oriented options: one focusing on reusability while the other discusses object-oriented programming in forms especially for development teams, including libraries, smart standards, and template forms.
