Two questions: SQLNET 2 hangs on AIX; f45 char mode + xterm

Two questions:

  1. We are seeing an occasional (and annoying situation) where the sqlnet 2.0 listener apparently "hangs" or fails to initiate server-side processes to incoming client requests. Configuration is multiple instances, and client processes, all running on RS/6000 running aix 4.1.5, oracle 7.2.3, sqlnet 2.2.3. Oddly, the listener writes an "establish" message to its log as these requests come in, but the client process never gets an established connection to the server. Client type doesn't matter: f45runform or sqlplus. Oracle and unix process limits are not exceeded (when that happened, we got "unable to create process" messages. This just hangs and never returns an error message. The solution has been to bounce the listener; this seems to resolve the problem Sqlnet 1.0 (orasrv) connections are not affected by this. Any guesses?
  2. Does anyone have a set of aixterm and oracle configuations that work for running forms 4.5 in character mode? When we upgraded aix 3 to 4.1.5 I lost this: now with various combinations of ORACLE_TERM and aixterm options either the line drawing (boxes) are incorrect or my keyboard mapping doesn't happen

Any help on these would be MUCH appreciated! thanks,
