Actually, it's no longer available in Net8. DDO means the nameserver should respond when queried via a "well known" name, like ORANAMESRVR0 in whatever naming system you're using (DNS, etc.). The nameserver doesn't actually have to do anything special, you just need to set up DNS properly and tell the clients to use it.

Net8 no longer supports this at all; it's still documented in the Net8 manuals but according to Oracle Support it's no longer functional. There's no way for clients to dynamically find a Net8 Names server anymore.
