dear all,

i have created a new instance, service and a database in GUI environment
(Instance manager). I managed to create a tablespace and some rollback
segments on the new database which i have created by using server manager command line. (SVRMGR23). the problem came in when i was trying to shut down
(SVRMGR> shutdown immediate) the default database and start a new database
(startup pfile=c:\oreant\database\init(sid).ora). I proceeded by creating a
new dba user account and a normal user account. I cant seem to connect to the Enterprise Manager, Security Manager and so on using both of the DBA user account and normal user account.

however, when i tried to shutdown the new database and restart the default database, i could log on to any of the above by using the 'system' as the username and 'manager' as the password.

does anyone care to sort this problem out for me ?? thank you
