I've ran 7.2.3 and 7.3.2.3 together on HP-UX 10.2 with no problems.

The main problem is if you are using a database link from 7.3.x to 7.2.3; you may experience "fetch out of sequence" errors. This is fixed by applying a patch to the 7.2.3 product (sorry, can't remember the oracle error number or bug number ! - I'm no longer at that site),
