The one thing I am noticing is that there are two camps of thought on this. One which says it does, another which says it doesn't. I was one that came from the school which says it does not.

All of the books I am reading from Oracle Press explicitly say the datafiles ARE created. However, I have also seen situations that would not automatically create the datafile.

Now that we have some different thoughts, can anyone confirm?
