Sql*net compatibility

Hello everybody,



I have to upgrade a db 7.1.6 to 7.3.4  (all on aix 4.1)
We have users (with Developper 2000 1.3.2) on NT 4.
My question is :


-   can I have this PC with sql*net 2.1 and the server (so the listener)

in 2.3,


    because the upgrade  will take several days ???


-  And have I to modify the tnsnames.ora files on client and/or server
