Hi Guy,
I have worked with several bit-mapped file systems in the past and they all have one thing in common -- they use Oracle as a table of contents and store the bit mapped images in separate files. The Oracle table entries then contain the information describing the bit-mapped images along with the path name of the bit-mapped file itself. They do not store the bit-mapped images in the database itself.
