I would recommend recompiling Oracle when you upgrade the OS. We got into big trouble when we upgraded our OS without doing this. Basically we ended up corrupting any table we inserted into after the OS upgrade. True, it may not be an issue with the version of Oracle and/or Solaris you are using, and you may not have problems if you don't recompile. Having this happen once scared me enough to make sure I always recompile Oracle if we upgrade the OS.
