Since it' s already a few days ago that you posted this question, I'll give you my story which is about OEM agent on OPEN VMS. Although things are quite different in a AIX Unix environment, there will be some common clues:

• Install the Oracle Network Manager in a \ORAWIN\ environment (not in \ORAWIN95\ because its a 16-bit application)
• Use the Network Manager to set up your configuration, generating: TNSNAMES.ORA | TOPOLOGY.ORA > to install in your client TNS_ADMIN directory SQLNET.ORA | NATIVE.ORA |

	LISTENER.ORA		|
	TNSNAMES.ORA		> to install in your server's $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin
	SNMP.ORA		|

-- Read carefully the sparse documentation on SNMP.ORA, the generated file is far from complete and correct.
- Run the CATSNMP.SQL-script as an internal or SYSTEM user for each monitored DATABASE
- Add the appropiate rights to the account which runs the AGENT on UNIX (in VMS add identifier ORA_AGENT_ID to the account) - Try to run the agent on the server-side with LSNRCTL DBSNMP_START - Verify if it's running, you should see a user-session from user DBSNMP on each database
- If that's true then setup your client Enterprise Manager, by creating an event-set and register it referring to the Listener or Database you want to monitor.
- Start the DAEMON Manager and look at the monitored NODES. If you did everything right you could see the NODE-name you want to monitor.

If thing don't work, check the several TRACE-files and try to solve the problem signalled there.

You should take quite some time to experiment with several settings and don't hesitate to get some support at OCS.
