I'm running Oracle Server 8.0.4, with no Performance Pack, with NT Service Pack and Agent patch 8.0.4.1.1 and I'm still having the problem you describe here. I have been having problems with my Agent aborting since my first Oracle install (8.0.3) back in October 1997, and I still do even after applying all the above changes.
