Hi Maurice,
U can create tablespaces of any size by adding the additional files. i.e. u can have a 4 GB tablespace by having 4 files of 1GB each.

Also u can have striped tablespace with each stripe corresponds to a file.

I suggest u refer the Oracle7 server administrator's guide - and chapter 22 in it.
