Net8 problem with NT

Hi, I've just installed a copy of Oracle 8.0.3 apparently succesfully on Windows NT 4.0. However I can't connect to the database using Enterprise Manager or any of the other components - I get a TNS error message.

I've tried to use Net8 to define an alias but each time I start up Net8 Easy Config I get an hour-glass cursor for a few seconds and then nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions? Are the Net8 componets using Java - if so how?
