It is irrelevant with Oracle what your user is. I have several Oracle installations on the same machine using different user id's. e.g. Oracle72, Oracle73 and Oracle80

However, using a different GROUP can cause problems. The group of DBA is hard-coded into oracle. Using a group other than DBA means that you have to recompile the oracle executables afer changing a library (I forget which).
