DEC Alpha 8400/Oracle7&8 for DW

I would appreciate any feedback regarding pros/cons of using Oracle 7.3.x or Oracle 8.0.x on DEC Alpha 8400 running Digital Unix for a data warehousing environment.

Here are some additional specs on the server. OS: 4.0c
Memory: 4G
Disk Space: 50G
Processors: 2

I cannot change the server or the DBMS vendor. I only have to choose between the versions of Oracle.

I am already familiar with the differences in functionality between Oracle7 and Oracle8. I am more interested in any bugs or performance considerations concerning either release running on the DEC Alpha. Received on Tue Jan 20 1998 - 00:00:00 CST
