In a quick test, I was able to place 58,571 characters into a TEXT ITEM
in Forms 4.5. I have also heard that a VARCHAR2 variable in PL/SQL can
be up to 32,767 characters. A varchar2 column in the database is the
only one limited to 2,000 characters.
