How is this a security feature if you can run line mode? Not sure I understand whet you're saying regarding the root login. You can do everything and more actually in line mode than you can with the Motif version of server manager?! So I can log in as root (I'm talking about the OS here eh), su to oracle and then run server manager in line mode, or at least I can. I just can't run the Motif version and I figure it's a motif libraries problem of some sort. Probably a mute point as I hear Oracle will can support of Motif Server Manager before long.
