Evan,

Only one word of advice for moving Oracle around like this (and I have done this on many occasions). Even when moving to the same operating system , if the actual hardware is different (ie. larger/smaller sun box) then you may have to change the base address assigned to the sga. You could easily trying to assign areas of memory that the operating system is using already. Oracle technical support have the base address for each machine and should be able to give it to you along with the instructions to rebuild Oracle.
