observing Oracle on Solaris it seems as if Oracle starts one process (or thread, I'm not exactly sure what ps shows on Solaris) per user that is logged in. naturally ANY system that uses multiple processes would utilize multiple CPUs. if it didn't I'd say the OS is seriously broken.
