Hello,

I need to schedule a number of jobs which execute sql scripts on a database running on an AIX box. I have been using cron and shell scripts till now. However Oracle has a feature called DBMS_JOB through which one can schedule jobs. Could anyone please explain the advantages/disadvantages of using DBMS_JOB to schedule database jobs instead of using Unix shell scripts. Thanks in advance
