V_$LOG is whats called a FIXED view and is basiaclly a direct view of the
controlfile, you can not add triggers to fixed views, sorry. In Oracle 8
you may be able to create a INSTEAD-OF trigger on a view on V_$LOG, but you
will have to try it.
