I'm not 100% sure on this but I believe the Oracle utility, tstshm, uses the default segment size to test allocation of memory. I get the same results with tstshm on Oracle 7.2.2 and DU 3.2C. However, when I look at the shared memory with 'ipcs -m -a', it shows a much larger single block of memory allocated by Oracle.
