  1. Exp and Imp are not generally backwards compatible (especially across major releases)
  2. I would advise strongly against doing this (even if you could find a script that would run).
  3. You shouldn't be able to run EXP80 against the 7.3 database.

It sounds to me as if you should be running exp73 against the 7.3 database and then running imp80 on the resulting dmp file to import the data into the 8.0 database. This is recommended alternative to the migration tool for migrating v7.3 to v8.0 databases.
