Hi

I was trying to find out how the data in oracle tables are stored in the datafiles. Of what ever i know the rows in a table are stored in 'blocks' in the datafile(typically they are of 2k size).

  1. Where is the information about these blocks of a table stored ?
  2. And can you tell me what is the format of a row header ?
  3. Is there any place in the data file where information (for example the address and the size of the row) about the row is stored?

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ravi
