Alter database datafile'fine name goes here ' offline; alter database datafile 'datafile name goes here' drop; be sur4 to have a gackup
or
alter database backup controlfile to trace;

edit the trace file to eleminate the datafile; run the trace.sql file
still have a backupfile of the database. Tell the bickering companies that you earned your pay today.
