Cannot connect as internal.

I have 3 instances running on Oracle 7.3/ Win NT 4.0. I have set the Oracle sid as 'ABC' in the NT registry. When I try to connect as internal it connects to instance 'ABC'.
To access the other instance I change the instance at svrmgr> by giving the command 'set instance <instance name>', and then try to connect as internal. I am not able to connect as internal in this case. But if I change the instance name in the NT registry it works.  Is there a way to connect as internal without changing the instance name in the registry.

                Thanks in advance
