Double-byte/ASCII language support?

Hi there,

I am trying to develop a web application with Oracle 7.3 on the backend. I need to be able to store English/French/Spanish in my tables and also Japanese/Chinese/Korean (double byte DBCS).

Does anyone know how I can store both normal ASCII languages and DBCS languages in an Oracle database concurrently?

Does Oracle 7 have any special features to support DBCS? How about Oracle 8?

Do I need to do anything special when I retrieve DBCS data and display it in my browser through some web middleware?

Do I need any special Oracle plugins to support double byte languages?

I think Oracle supports Unicode, but I do not understand what significance that is to what I am trying to do.

Any help or insight would be appreciated!

Lost in double byte,
