Hello,

If your archivelog mode is active, you
need to save log files before reusing
them.
So, multi files permit to begin the
backup sooner.
If your backup is made on disk, you
don't have any probllem, but on tape
..

If you are not in archive log mode,
it's not important, but it's time to
think at security.

Rollback segment are used to store old
data until commit phase.
Log files is used to restart the
database after a crash.
