Oracle client library files on AIX

Hi,

I've been trying to set up an oracle client on AIX without installing the whole Oracle server without any success. Does any one know if it is possible to do this? And if so which files are necessary? I have libclntsh.a and libsqlnet.a. The client links with these libs but fails when it logs on to a remote server.
