Exactly as you would create a normal tablespace. The only difference is that instead of specifying a filesystem and filename, you specify the device name (as in /dev) of the raw device.

Oh yes, in our case we could not allocate 100% of the raw device space to Oracle. It seems that there are overheads that require some of the raw space. For our 1GB raw devices we've allocated 990 MB to the Oracle tablespace. Also remember that allocations are once off. You can not extended it afterwards - like slippery fingers that allocated only 1 MB of a 1GB raw disk to a tablespace. <grin>

We had to wait for more than a month before we could drop that tablespace, correct the CREATE TABLESPACE entry for that device, re-create it and reload the data...
