Generating country states ..

Hope someone reads this.

I need to generate an automatic list of states with relation to the country. Eg, USA. Usually, the deployment of such will be a drop-down list of available countries, and almost instantly generate a corresponding lists of states related. This would be in a web deployment.

Has anybody tried something of this sort. Are trggers an alternative ? Am reluctant to deploy applications using triggers for some reasons. Any other suggestions or solutions ?

Also, will be relying heavily on use of PL/SQL for development on the web.

Please help.
