  I do agree with John and Rich. Want to make an addition, if possible and if you have enough space, I will recommend to have export also with online backup. If possible once everyday or atleast once a week. Sometime it saves a lot of recovery time. Backup and recovery book from Oracle press is an excellent book to have.
