There are a number of ways to do this. This is the easy route that I took:

Take the user out of the UNIX "DBA" group. The group name may be different on your installation.

"connect internal" is going away according to Oracle (don't laugh - it's true).
It is better to "connect username/password as sysdba"

Similar concept to proper UNIX system administration. Don't let anyone login as root. Make them login as a user, then su to root. Best method to CYA. Kirk Lashbrook
