Replication: ORA-23350 - max num of recursive calls exceeded

I received the following error:

ORA-23350: maximum number of recursive calls exceeded

in my DEFERROR table when refreshing a snapshot. The documentation (as usual) is not very good. It says to simply re-run the transaction using DBMS_DEFER_SYS.EXECUTE_ERROR which of course gives the same error. Anyone have any ideas?
